Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) is an initiative of the Summer Work Experience Program. It provides wage subsidies to employers to create employment for secondary and post-secondary students. Again this year, Canada Summer Jobs welcomes applications from small businesses, not-for-profit employers, public sector, and faith based organizations that provide quality summer jobs for students.
I would like to thank all of those who have previously applied for the many opportunities that you have afforded to our youth in Burlington and encourage you to apply again for 2019.
There are a few changes to funding eligibility for 2019. The most important change is that youth between the ages of 15-30 will now be eligible to receive Canada Summer Jobs funding in 2019, regardless of whether or not they are a student returning to full time studies in the fall. This change allows organizations to give opportunities to a wider range of Canadian youth.
The application period for Canada Summer Jobs 2019 funding will run from December 17, 2018, to January 25, 2019. Successful employers will be notified in April 2019, with the earliest job start date being April 23, 2019.
