Canada’s Smart Cities Challenge

Smart cities have the potential to improve every aspect of community life – how people move around, how they live and play, how they earn a living, how they learn and are empowered to participate in society, how they interact with the natural environment, and how they create safe and secure public spaces.

Through the Smart Cities Challenge, the Government will work in collaboration with cities and communities that are ready to innovate and take risks – providing financial and in-kind support for their smart cities transformation.

New Horizons for Seniors Program

Organizations that want to help seniors make a difference in the lives of others and in their communities are eligible to receive federal grants and contributions funding. Projects must be led or inspired by seniors and address one or more of the following five program objectives:

Going Global Initiative

Going Global Initaitive gives Canadian innovators up to $75,000 to help commercialize, validate or adapt their technologies.
GGI funds may be used to offset a variety of costs you may face when participating in targeted meetings with foreign collaborators.

Innovative Superclusters Initiative

The Innovation Superclusters Initiative will invest up to $950 million between 2017–2022 to support business-led innovation superclusters with the greatest potential to energize the economy and become engines of growth. Through a small number of high-value, strategic investments this initiative will co-invest with industry in bold and ambitious proposals to strengthen Canada’s most promising clusters and build superclusters at scale.
