Funding Opportunities

New Horizons for Seniors Program

Organizations that want to help seniors make a difference in the lives of others and in their communities are eligible to receive federal grants and contributions funding. Projects must be led or inspired by seniors and address one or more of the following five program objectives:

Organizations can apply for funding for community-based and pan-Canadian projects in the same year.

The application period is open from May 15th to June 21st 2019.

Communities at Risk: Security Infrastructure Program (SIP)

The SIP supports the implementation of projects to help communities with a demonstrated history of being victimized by hate-motivated crime through the enhancement of their security infrastructure.

Public Safety Canada receives applications from December 1st to January 31st and from June 1st to July 31st of each year.

Effective June 1, 2019, to make the SIP more responsive to the needs of communities, the list of eligible expenditures under SIP has been expanded to include up to $10,000 for basic training for staff to respond to a hate-motivated incident.

Youth Employment and Skills Strategy Program: National or Regional

The Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) is a new, integrated strategy, which aims to provide flexible and holistic services to support all young Canadians develop the skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition in the labour market.

The application period runs from June 3rd to July 26th 2019.

Social Development Partnerships Program – Disability :Youth Leadership and Financial Security

The Social Development Partnerships Program – Disability supports projects intended to improve the participation and increase the social inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of Canadian Society. The application period runs from May 2th 2019 to October 31st 2019.

Enabling Accessibility in Workplaces and Communities

The Government of Canada is currently accepting applications from eligible applicants interested in receiving funding from the Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF).

Mid-sized projects is currently closed.

Youth Innovation component is currently open.

Going Global Initiative

Going Global Initaitive gives Canadian innovators up to $75,000 to help commercialize, validate or adapt their technologies.
GGI funds may be used to offset a variety of costs you may face when participating in targeted meetings with foreign collaborators.

There is no deadline to apply. However, it is recommended you apply 8 weeks before planned travel.
